Moussa Gholam began his professional career in Spain and was able to lay a solid foundation for his professional career with a strong amateur record of 40 wins and only three defeats. The talented 29-year-old has already gained experience on the international stage, with fights in Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Spain. Now he wants to take the next step under the AGON Sports banner – with one clear goal: to become world champion!

Moussa Gholam, who is ranked 12th in the world in the BoxRec rankings, on his decision to join AGON Sports: “Ingo Volckmann has already produced several world champions at AGON Sports. That says everything about my choice. I want to become world champion! My next goal is to fight a challenging opponent to prove that I’m ready for big fights.”

Gholam was previously under contract with Gallego Prada Promotion in Barcelona and looks back on this time with gratitude: “It was a great and successful time, but I realized that I now had to reach the next level. My management at the time put me in touch with Flavio Oleaga Mirabal, who was already responsible for matchmaking my fights. He introduced me to Ingo Volckmann and the AGON team. I spent two weeks sparring in Mallorca – and that convinced me!”

Volckmann: “A very talented boxer!”

AGON boss Ingo Volckmann is delighted: “Moussa is a very talented boxer. He has already fought 23 professional fights and is ranked among the best in the world. He impressed us here at the camp during a two-week sparring session, which is why I offered him a contract.”

With Moussa Gholam, AGON Sports has secured another great talent who could soon cause a stir at international level. Just yesterday, Gholam received a last-minute request from Riyadh. After Shakur Stevenson’s opponent had to cancel the scheduled world championship fight for the big Riyadh Season event next Saturday, the new AGON man was to be signed. However, the team decided against this World Championship opportunity as the request came at too short notice. However, Moussa Gholam’s debut under the Berlin promotion is to be announced shortly.
