That’s how many dollars the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor brought in eight years ago – a spectacle with a mega payday for both fighters.

When Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC superstar Conor McGregor faced each other in Las Vegas on August 26, 2017, the sport made history not only in sporting terms, but above all financially. Although the fight fell short of the Mayweather-Pacquiao duel in 2015, it still brought in huge sums of money.
- Tickets: Around 13,000 tickets were sold, with an average price of 3600 dollars. Result: 55.4 million dollars in revenue.
- Pay-per-view: In the USA, 4.3 million viewers ordered the fight for 100 dollars each – making 430 million dollars. In the UK, 874,000 additional purchases were made.
- Sponsors: Hublot, Corona, Reebok and other brands paid millions. Mayweather’s clothing alone earned him around 20 million dollars.
- Fight purses: 100 million dollars were guaranteed for Mayweather and 30 million for McGregor. In fact, according to Forbes 275 million and 85 million dollars respectively.
According to Forbes, the total revenue amounted to around 500 million dollars – a payday that impressively underlined Mayweather’s reputation as “Money”. In the end, it was the second biggest pay day in boxing history after Mayweather-Pacquiao .
