Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao wants to do it again: Ten years after their historic mega-fight, the former world champion is pushing for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather – and promises “a real fight” this time.

Pacquiao had made a remarkable comeback earlier this year when he fought to a draw against Mario Barrios Jr. and stepped back into the spotlight. This performance was apparently strong enough to bring Mayweather back to the negotiating table. As BoxingScene reports that talks are underway about a possible second duel – this time without a show character. Streaming service Netflix, which is already broadcasting the show fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis on November 14, is said to be showing great interest in Mayweather vs Pacquiao II. The rematch could take place in late January or early 2026.

Pacquiao (46) is also currently in negotiations for a world championship fight against WBA world champion Rolly Romero, but this could fall through if the Mayweather comeback materializes. The first duel between the two legends in 2015 is still considered the most lucrative boxing event in history – over 600 million dollars in revenue and 4.6 million pay-per-view sales. Pacquiao lost unanimously on points at the time, but later complained of a shoulder injury. “I want a real fight this time – no holds barred, no excuses,” Pacquiao explained. Whether Mayweather, now 48 years old, agrees remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the interest of the fans would be huge.
