Tyson Fury has “once again” confirmed his return. The former world champion wants to fight again in 2026 and has come back from his break with clear words.

Tyson Fury has officially confirmed his comeback. The former two-time heavyweight world champion announced on social media that he intends to return to the ring in 2026, ending months of speculation about his sporting future.
The 37-year-old Brit was last active around 13 months ago, when he lost the rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh. After this defeat, Fury had already toyed with the idea of ending his career several times, but at the same time repeatedly published training videos that raised doubts about a final retirement. Now came the clear announcement.
In a compilation of recent training sessions, Fury wrote: “2026 is the year. I’ve been away for a while, but now I’m back.” Despite criticism of his physical condition, the “Gypsy King” emphasized that he is currently working on fine-tuning and fitness and has started the new year highly motivated.
A possible mega-fight against Anthony Joshua was long considered a realistic scenario, but was recently postponed again. After Joshua’s serious car accident in Nigeria, his sporting future is currently not a priority. Fury himself also left it open as to who he wants to return against.
One thing is certain, however: Fury does not see himself at the end yet. “Nothing is better than beating men and getting paid for it,” he wrote confidently. The opponent, date and venue are to be confirmed in the coming weeks. It therefore seems certain that the Brit really will make a comeback. But we won’t really believe it until the “Gypsy King” is in the ring.
