The police have arrested Gervonta “Tank” Davis in Florida. The 31-year-old has been charged with assault, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.

Gervonta Davis has been arrested in Florida. According to the Miami Gardens police, the 31-year-old was taken into custody on the basis of an arrest warrant that was issued around two weeks ago. Investigators cite battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping as the charges.
According to police, officers tracked Davis down in the Miami Design District after a multi-district surveillance operation. The arrest was made without incident as Davis was leaving a business. He will then be taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in Miami.
At the heart of the case is an alleged incident on October 27, 2025. Investigation documents referred to by US media describe allegations by a woman who is said to know Davis from a previous relationship and reports physical attacks and threats. Investigators refer to an alleged altercation at the woman’s workplace in Miami Gardens.
The case has already had sporting consequences. Davis, a former champion in several weight classes, recently lost his status as WBA lightweight title holder after the situation surrounding the arrest warrant came to a head. What happens next will be decided by the upcoming court dates.
