Anthony Joshua wants to pave the way for the mega-fight against Tyson Fury in November with a build-up fight in the summer.

The “Battle of Britain” is picking up speed again: According to his promoter Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua is planning a comeback in July – before a mega duel with Tyson Fury could take place in November. Joshua was there live at the weekend for Fury’s win over Arslanbek Makhmudov, but deliberately stayed out of the verbal exchange. Fury, on the other hand, used the stage to challenge his rival directly and increased the pressure publicly.
A contract for the duel does not yet exist. Joshua is following a clearly structured plan: first, a build-up fight in July against a solid opponent to get back into the rhythm after a long break. This would be followed by around four months of preparation for the potential clash with Fury.
Hearn also emphasized that a risky opponent like Deontay Wilder is currently out of the question. The focus is clearly on the duel with Fury. After a difficult few months – including a tragic car accident – Joshua is now ready for his return. If everything goes according to plan, one of the biggest fights in heavyweight history could finally become a reality at the end of the year.
