Bounce. Back. Bigger – Boxing comeback with Kahraze & Co.

For 74 years, no boxing match took place at Vienna’s Heumarkt. On June 5, the time has come again when Bounce sends WBF champion Mobin Kahraze and other boxers into the ring.

Boxing returns to Vienna’s Heumarkt after 74 years – with bounce fighter Mobin Kahraze and Mansur Elsajev fighting for the WBF light heavyweight belt.

Under the motto “Bounce. Back. Bigger.”, Austria’s most successful boxing event returns to Vienna’s Heumarkt on June 5. The open-air fight arena will be the venue for the 18th Bounce Fight Night – with a fight card full of top international fights.

WBF World Light Heavyweight Championship

The focus of the evening will be the fight for the WBF world title between Austrian hopeful Mobin Kahraze and challenger Mansur Elsajev. “You couldn’t ask for a more balanced fight,” says organizer Marcos Nader. “Mobin is excellently prepared. But in Mansur Elsajev, he faces the strongest and most dangerous opponent of his professional career to date.”

Timy Shala is contesting his farewell fight – but against a new opponent. After Stefan Nikolic had to withdraw for health reasons, the Viennese will now face the experienced Tomas Adamek.

Reigning WBF world champion Michaela Kotaskova returns to the Heumarkt after her WBO title fight in London in April. Her opponent Ester Konecna, currently number 15 in the world rankings, is by no means an outsider. The Czech has already defeated former world champion Mikaela Lauren – the opponent against whom Kotaskova also triumphed.

Former Bounce boxer Howig Grigorjan is back on the Bounce stage and will face German pro Anas El Abid, who naturally won’t begrudge the Viennese local hero his home victory.

Olympic team opens the evening

The Austrian Olympic national team will kick things off: Michael Fares Derouiche, Arsen Chabyan, Lucky Aimufa, Ivan Bezhulyi and Emin Yildiz will compete against a strong French selection.

The event also has a historical dimension: the last major boxing event at Heumarkt took place on July 4, 1952 – when European champion Joschi Weidinger defeated Luxembourg’s Jean Serres by knockout in round four. After 74 years, boxing is returning to this traditional venue.
