On September 12, boxing fans at the Uber Eats Music Hall can look forward not only to title fights between Berlin local heroes Hamsat Shadalov and Paul Wall as well as international stars such as Arlen Lopez and Lazaro Alvarez. Up-and-coming talents will also be stepping into the spotlight. With Malek Semmo, Assan Hansen and Yusnier Sorsano Ruiz, three promising boxers will be fighting on the AGON Sports Event undercard in Berlin.

Hansen multiple amateur champion

Assan Hansen, who has often been invited to spar at AGON, is celebrating his professional debut in the four-round light-welterweight division. The 25-year-old can look back on an impressive amateur career with over 100 fights and several German championship titles. Hansen has been in the ring since the age of eleven – now he wants to cause a sensation in the professional ranks too.

Yusnier Sorsano Ruiz, an exceptional Cuban talent and new addition to AGON Sports, is making his professional debut in the six-round half-middleweight division. In professional circles, the 22-year-old is regarded as one of the greatest talents in Cuban boxing. With his explosive style and technical finesse, he wants to take the first step in his professional career in Berlin.

Volckmann: “Boxer with huge potential”

Also newly signed to AGON is Malek Semmo (21), four-time German amateur champion. After a successful professional debut in February at the AGON event with Felix Sturm in the main fight, the middleweight is now entering the ring for his second professional fight over six rounds. Semmo not only has boxing talent. He also has strong support outside the ring: Rapper Majoe will accompany him in Berlin.

“Our undercard is all about the future. Assan Hansen, Yusnier Sorsano Ruiz and Malek Semmo are boxers with huge potential that can be built up in the long term. We are convinced that they will thrill the spectators,” says AGON promoter Ingo Volckmann. With these three fighters, AGON Sports once again underlines its claim to give young talents a big stage and to accompany them on their way to the international top.

Shadalov is headliner – Wall around the DM

Berlin super featherweight Hamsat Shadalov is in the main fight of the evening. The “Chechen Borz” will fight the unbeaten Spaniard Alex de la Rosa for the next international WBA title. In addition, his childhood friend and training partner Paul Wall will fight Hamburg’s Antonio Fechner for the German championship. Arlen Lopez and Lázaro Alvarez, two highly decorated Cuban Olympic heroes from the AGON stable, will also be coming to Berlin.

Tickets for the fight night are available at Ticketmaster.de.
