Successful premiere in front of a home crowd! Marburg kicks off the German Boxing League with a surprise win against defending champions Schwerin.

BC Marburg celebrated its premiere in the German Boxing League with a convincing victory. On the first fight day of the new season, the Hessians prevailed against defending champions BC Traktor Schwerin in front of their home crowd. Marburg won five of the seven main fights of the evening, while Schwerin only recorded two victories. In the end, BC Marburg won 12:9 on points.
It was a successful debut in the top German boxing league for the team from Marburg. “A spectacular victory with fair judging and a great backdrop,” the team summed up. The guests from Schwerin also praised the event as a fair and exciting start that delighted fans and spectators alike.
In addition to the main matches, three additional matches were held in junior classes to round off the evening. With the victory against the five-time team champions from Schwerin, Marburg sent a clear signal to the competition. The next challenge for the Hessians is on January 25, when they face the Chemnitzer Wölfe away from home. The rematch against Schwerin will take place on February 8 in the Palmbergarena.
