On February 15, 2025, Bujar Tahiri will step into the ring at the ratiopharm Arena Neu-Ulm. The 26-year-old will fight in the supporting program of Felix Sturm’s big comeback event, “Ein Sturm zieht auf”. For Tahiri, performing in front of a large audience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His goal: to establish himself as one of the biggest talents in German boxing and then pursue an international career.
Tahiri’s path to the professional camp
Bujar Tahiri was born on June 13, 1998 in Landau, Rhineland-Palatinate. The son of Kosovan-Albanian parents, he began boxing at the age of nine. His father inspired him and his siblings to train. Boxing quickly became more than just a hobby for Tahiri.
Tahiri made his professional debut in February 2019. Since then, he has an unblemished record: 19 wins in 19 fights, including nine knockouts. His fighting style is aggressive and fast. With his height of 1.78 meters and his strong physique, he puts his opponents under pressure early on.
AGON Sports as a career springboard
In July 2024, Tahiri signed a multi-year contract with AGON Sports, a leading German boxing stable. Promoter Ingo Volckmann recognized his potential early on. “Bujar Tahiri has an action-packed fighting style and the talent for big title fights,” said Volckmann.
Tahiri himself was enthusiastic about his move: “I chose AGON Sports because, in my opinion, it is the best that Germany has to offer. I trust Ingo Volckmann and he has already shown that he can and wants to take his boxers to the world championships.
Tahiri made his debut for AGON Sports on September 14, 2024 in Berlin. There he met Argentinian Nicolas David Veron and won unanimously on points. He was last in the ring on November 30 in Vienna at Bounce Fight Night. Against the experienced Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei, he also scored a unanimous points victory in eight rounds.
Bujar Tahiri has ambitious goals
Tahiri knows what he wants. He strives for big titles and wants to become world champion. The event on February 15 is another step for him on the way to achieving this. “I want to show Germany that I’m one of the best,” emphasizes the unbeaten boxer.
Tahiri’s roots play an important role in this. He is proud of his Kosovo-Albanian heritage and the strong cohesion of the Albanian community: “We support each other – I am very grateful for that.”
