Even more girl power for Jake Paul: Champion Mikaela Mayer switches from Top Rank to Most Valuable Promotions.

Mikaela Mayer, world champion in three weight classes, has signed a contract with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). The US-American joins arguably the strongest stable in women’s boxing shortly before the debut of the “MVPW” event in April . Mayer (22-2, 5 knockouts) currently holds the WBA and WBC world championship belts at half-middleweight, as well as the WBO welterweight title.
“MVP creates incredible opportunities”
“I’m thrilled to be joining MVP as we continue to break boundaries and take women’s boxing to new heights,” shared Mayer. “I’ve always wanted to fight the biggest and best fights. The world-class roster at MVP creates incredible opportunities to make those fights a reality. I look forward to showcasing my skills on some of the sport’s biggest stages and working with a passionate, innovative team that believes in the continued growth of women’s boxing.”
The 35-year-old from Colorado Springs represented the USA at the 2016 Olympic Games and made her professional debut at Top Rank a year later. Mayer started with a record of 17-0 and was champion in the semi-welter before suffering her first defeat in 2022 – a narrow split decision against Alycia Baumgardner.
On the road to success
In her attempt to secure the welterweight title in early 2024, she again lost narrowly on points to Natasha Jonas, but has been on the road to success ever since. Mayer defeated Sandy Ryan for the WBO welterweight title in September 2024 and successfully defended it in a rematch in March 2025. Last October, she moved up to half-middleweight and won the WBA and vacant WBC belt against Mary Spencer.
