Jermall Charlo wants to get going again after an 18-month break. Next stop: LaManna – followed by Caleb Plant.

Jermall Charlo returns to the ring on May 31 – and with a clear goal: the former double world champion wants to make a statement in the super middleweight division. The Texan will face Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna on the undercard of the WBA interim title fight between Caleb Plant and Armando Resendiz. The fight will be Charlo’s first appearance in 18 months.
“I’m going to do my job – I have bigger fish to fry,” explained Charlo confidently at the press conference in Los Angeles. But the 33-year-old knows that he must not underestimate LaManna. “I know how opponents get into the ring against me – he prepares for the best Charlo.” Despite 33 wins (22 knockouts) and zero defeats, Charlo has only had two fights since 2021. Now he wants to box his way back into the limelight in Las Vegas. Goal: a cracker of a duel against Caleb Plant later in the year – provided they both win their fights. “The super middle is my new home,” says Charlo. “I want to be more explosive than ever before.”
