The boxing year 2025 starts with a loud bang! On February 15, Felix Sturm, one of Germany’s most successful and charismatic boxers, is set to make his comeback.
When Felix Sturm steps into the ring in mid-February, he will be 46 years old. However, “The Fighter” is far from thinking about retiring. The five-time world champion wants to continue to deliver great fights to his fans and show that he is still a force to be reckoned with. The opponent for his eagerly awaited comeback on February 15 can now also be announced. In 38-year-old Benjamin Blindert, Sturm will face a fighter who has only been defeated once in 17 fights.
The super middleweight from Euskirchen, who calls himself “The Jet”, had a lot of respect for Sturm at their first meeting on Media Day in Cologne: “For Felix, the fight against me is a ‘normal day at the office’. I’ve followed his career for many years and was a fan of his myself. It’s all a small step for him, but a big one for me. And that will be an advantage in terms of motivation and preparation. Felix is a flawless boxer, but that’s the only way I’ll be able to perform at my best!”

Felix Sturm, who is currently in training camp for his upcoming comeback, said of his upcoming opponent: “Benjamin is a quiet guy, not someone who talks big. He’ll be looking for his chance because it’s a big opportunity for him. I think he will put all his eggs in one basket and prepare accordingly. Boxers who are very quiet in the run-up to a fight usually come around the corner with a surprise. I will be prepared for anything.”
In addition to Felix Sturm, who once began his career at middleweight and achieved world championship honors there, another former world champion, Vincenzo Gualtieri, will step into the ring. His AGON team colleague Bujar Tahiri, who also fights in the 72.574 kg weight class, is also aiming for another victory in Neu-Ulm.
