Terri Harper is set for a very special night: On Friday, the 28-year-old lightweight world champion returns to her hometown of Doncaster for her title defense against unbeaten German Natalie Zimmerman (13-0, 3 knockouts). The fight will take place at the EcoPower Stadium – the home stadium of Doncaster Rovers. For Harper, 15-2-2 (6 knockouts), it’s an emotional highlight: “It’s a dream come true. I’m full of anticipation and want to put on a great show for the fans.”

Harper is already eyeing the next big name: WBC champion Caroline Dubois (11-0-1, 5 knockouts). The rival had publicly expressed interest in a unification fight, but negotiations have so far been fruitless. Harper made it clear: “I don’t know what Caroline Dubois’ problem is, but I can’t wait to face her in the ring. But first I have to deliver here on Friday.”

German boxer Natalie Zimmerman is also showing her fighting spirit: “I’ve trained hard with sparring partners from all over Europe. I will give it my all on Friday. Becoming world champion means everything to me.” But the Brit has already been in action against the likes of Sandy Ryan and Cecilia Braekhus – and knows what’s at stake: “I’ve caught fire again. If I don’t get a statement win on Friday, I’ll be disappointed.”
