The mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is apparently set to take place in November at Madison Square Garden in New York. The contracts for “The Battle of Britain” are said to have already been signed.

The heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will not take place in the UK—at least according to the “Daily Mail.” The British newspaper reports that the contracts for the “Battle of Britain” have been signed. According to the report, the two English rivals are set to face off in the ring at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 20.
However, this has not yet been officially confirmed, neither by Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, nor by Queensberry Promotions, which represents Tyson Fury. Hearn had repeatedly emphasized recently that, according to the contract, the fight must take place in the United Kingdom—or not at all.
“No Agreement on the Amendment”
Now, however, Hearn seems to be backing down. “We are in constant contact with Turki Al-Sheikh and ‘Sela,’ but so far there has been no agreement on a contract amendment,” the Matchroom boss told the Boxingscene website on Tuesday. Hearn has repeatedly emphasized that both he and Joshua want the fight to take place in the UK, but that all other parties involved have agreed on New York. Before this can be officially confirmed, AJ’s team must approve a new contract.
From the perspective of (British) boxing fans, holding the Fury vs. Joshua fight in New York is anything but desirable. Due to the time difference, the match between the English rivals would not be broadcast in the UK and the rest of Europe until the wee hours of the night.
