Jake Paul wants to “take out the little boy!”

The trash talk has begun: Before the Nov. 14 show fight against Gervonta Davis, Jake Paul announces he’s going to “take out the little boy.”

Jake Paul has wasted no time in making the first spikes following the announcement of his exhibition fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis (November 14, Atlanta/Netflix). “Size vs speed, power vs precision – one will rise, one will fall,” the YouTuber boxer wrote on social media.

Paul, a cruiserweight ranked seven weight classes above Davis, will also enter the ring with a clear physical advantage: 19 centimeters in height and almost 25 centimeters in reach. “His nickname is Tank, but I’m an FPV drone. And I’m going to take out the little boy,” Paul continued provocatively. To back this up, he posted, among other things, a picture of a tissue box (“for all Davis fans”) and an edited photo showing Davis next to a wedding cake – with the allusion that both were “about the same size”.

The fight comes just under a year after Paul’s mega-event against Mike Tyson and a few months after his victory over Julio César Chávez Jr. Paul had originally wanted a fight against Anthony Joshua, but negotiations fell through. Now it is to be against Davis (30-0-1, 28 knockouts), one of the most dangerous lightweights in the world. The rules – glove size, number of rounds and weight limits – have not yet been officially announced. One thing is clear: spectacle meets sport on November 14.
