SES boxing gala in Aschersleben: Half-middleweight Julian Vogel wins his “home match” against John Bielenberg ahead of time.

And once again the atmosphere was impressive, loud and euphoric – the two high-class title fights in particular were celebrated at the SES Boxing Gala in the Ballhaus Arena in Aschersleben, which was completely sold out with over 1,800 spectators. Local hero and WBO Junior World Champion Julian Vogel from “Team Germany” was able to withstand the pressure and tension in his second home match and defend his title unchallenged with a T.K.O. victory in round 8 against John Bielenberg from Lübeck.
Dominant performance from the center of the ring
The 21-year-old half-middleweight dominated his opponent right from the start, holding the center of the ring and setting the tone. John Bielenberg had too little to counter this in the first five rounds and was then too passive in his actions in the face of Julian Vogel’s pressure and concentrated boxing.
Cheered on by his numerous and vociferous fans, Julian Vogel stepped up his actions, drove John Bielenberg in front of him and made hard signs with his jab. In the 8th round, a right hand followed by a body hook was the final blow. After a second knockdown, Bielenberg’s corner threw in the towel – and Julian Vogel defended his WBO Junior World Champion belt with his ninth knockout victory in his 17th professional fight.
Reis triumphs in the “stable duel” against Henrik
The spectators saw a thrilling fight in the “WBA Continental” title fight between the two SES super middleweights Artur Reis (Wolfsburg) and Artur Henrik (Bremen). From the very first minute, the two stablemates gave each other nothing, boxing powerfully with a lot of speed and athleticism – a fight at a high level. Artur Reis had the advantage in some rounds thanks to his fighting spirit, power and dynamism. Artur Henrik came into the fight harder, used his technical means, was light on his feet and thus found his advantages in this close but always thrilling boxing match. The spectators cheered both boxers on very loudly, driving them forward.
The decisive scene followed in round 9, when Artur Reis forced his opponent Artur Henrik to the ground with a powerful punch combination and a hard right. Artur Henrik recovered from this knockdown. But after ten rounds, Artur Reis was the winner on points and was proud to be awarded the WBA Continental belt after a great fight by both fighters!
Steinforth announces contract extensions
SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: “Two great fights – two great boxing matches! Aschersleben, here in the Ballhaus Arena, was ‘upside down’ again. I am very proud of the performance of our athletes in these two fantastic title fights. Julian Vogel was dominant, controlled and, in the end, very confident. He withstood the enormous pressure – he is a real ‘local hero’!
In the fight between the two super middleweights Artur Reis and Artur Henrik you could feel this special tension, this high emotion for boxing. Both SES boxers delivered a great fight – I am very proud of both boxers. And boxing fans want to see these German duels with their special character and high sporting standards.
In this time of “good news”, here are two clear announcements: We have already extended the contracts with both SES athletes, Artur Reis and Artur Henrik, regardless of the outcome of the fight. We have also extended our contract with MDR by two years. This underlines: We deliver … and we deliver great!”
Rehse and Meinecke leave nothing to chance
Super middleweight Robin Rehse was the dominator in his fight against Czech Milan Prochazka. He dominated his opponent at will with his boxing class until the latter retired due to injury. The 21-year-old from Ballenstedt is now in line for his first title fight!
Half-middleweight Richard Meinecke from Nordhausen also had few problems with his opponent, putting in his hard accents and winning clearly on points. Cruiserweight Armend Xhoxhaj had an opponent in the indomitable Croatian Ivan Duka, who put away the hardest hits, was clearly behind on points and then held out until the end of the fight despite Xhoxhaj’s superiority.
