Don King says no: Noel Mikaelian will not step aside for Jake Paul – the rematch against Jack takes priority.

Jake Paul wants Badou Jack – but Noel Mikaelian shuts down! The former WBC champion will not vacate his spot for a rematch against Jack for the social media star. As Don King Promotions officially announced, a possible “step aside deal” in Paul’s favor was clearly rejected. This means that the YouTuber’s planned title opportunity remains a pipe dream for the time being.
“Jake wants to fight for a title as soon as possible,” said MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian recently – but for the time being, the path does not lead via the WBC. Paul is not even ranked there. And: The WBC has already ordered a mandatory rematch between Jack and Mikaelian – after a controversial majority decision in the first duel. A purse bid for Jack vs. Mikaelyan II is scheduled for July 15.
WBA instead of WBC? Jake Paul has been ranked 14th in the WBA rankings since his victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr – much discussed, but official. A loophole could open up there – provided Paul remains active and the WBA sticks to the ranking.
