Number of the week: 100,000

This is how expensive the egg that Chris Eubank Jr. hit his rival Conor Benn in the face at a press conference in Manchester will be.

The British Boxing Board of Control has now imposed a fine of 100,000 pounds (around 119,000 euros) on Chris Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 knockouts) for “egg bashing” Conor Benn (23-0, 14 knockouts) at a press event. Background to the egg attack: Benn tested positive for doping in 2022 and was banned. He later gave an increased egg consumption as an explanation.

“I would do it again”

Eubank Jr. showed little remorse after his gaffe and declared: “If I had the chance, I would do it again.” The eagerly awaited clash between the two English middleweights will take place on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium.
