That’s how many days – or 7 years and 13 days – it will be since Mahmoud Charr’s last title fight when he steps into the ring against Kubrat Pulev on December 7, 2024.

Mahmoud Charr won the “regular” WBA heavyweight belt on November 25, 2017 against Russia’s Alexander Ustinov in Krefeld. Since then, the 40-year-old “Diamond Boy” (34-4-0, 21 knockouts) has only had three professional fights (including no title fights). The main reasons for this were numerous legal disputes and injuries suffered by the German professional boxer with Syrian-Lebanese roots. Charr will now face Pulev (31-3-0, 14 knockouts) , three years his senior, in Sofia (Bulgaria) in his first ever title defense.
