Opetaia vs. Cinkara: IBF World Championship on December 6

Huseyin Cinkara is back – and hot for the title! The unbeaten cruiserweight wants to dethrone Jai Opetaia on December 6 in Australia.

The previously unbeaten Huseyin Cinkara (23-0, 17 knockouts) officially has his first world title fight: On December 6, 2025, he will face reigning champion Jai Opetaia for the IBF and Ring titles at the Gold Coast Convention Center in Australia. The fight has been rescheduled – at the beginning of the year, Cinkara had to cancel a scheduled duel against Opetaia due to an injury.

This is Cinkara’s big chance: he not only wants to be crowned world champion Down Under, but also break Opetaia’s supremacy. Although the 40-year-old with German roots is regarded as a blatant outsider, with a top performance he can still make things difficult for the Australian P4P star. Cinkara said in media reports that although he respects what Opetaia has achieved so far, he is also convinced that he can use his composure, technique and experience to pull the momentum to his side. He sees himself as a serious threat to the reigning IBF champion.
