“A role model for many”
But the “matador” doesn’t just want to get ahead in sport and social media, he also wants to get more involved in children’s and youth work. “I’m number six in the world super middleweight rankings – but what’s more important to me is the character and the positive impulses that I can pass on to young people,” explains Zachenhuber. His own childhood taught him that the path to success is not predetermined and that sport can be the right place to find support and direction. “I’m a role model for many people, and that helps me to get them to listen to me and imitate me,” says the boxing pro, who is also aware of his role away from the ring.
Zachenhuber fought his last fight on July 19 against Paulinus Ndjolonimu. However, he struggled to a majority decision victory in the SNP Dome in Heidelberg. It is not yet known who the likeable Bavarian will face on January 10.
