A dream is coming true for Nelvie Tiafack. The Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medalist will box abroad for the first time as a professional on Saturday night (September 27). Tiafack will contest a build-up fight against the US American Ramiro Edwin Robles (5-0, 3 knockouts). The event at the “Theatre St. Denis” in Montreal (Canada) will be promoted by internet star Jake Paul. Paul, one of the most influential names in the boxing business with over 45 million followers on social media, has already ennobled his latest signing as “The German Powerhouse” and has high hopes for the Cologne heavyweight.

“I want to be at the top”

Tiafack is also full of anticipation for his ring debut overseas. “I’m the first German to ever bring home an Olympic medal in my weight class,” he explained on Sky Sports. And added: “I can do even more – and that’s what I’m striving for.”

The 26-year-old made his professional debut in Heidelberg on July 19, beating Poland’s Jakub Sosinski by T.K.O. in the second round at the boxing night organized by Florian Winter and his agency “Ringside Zone”. In future, Tiafack will now further his career alongside Winter. “I’m really looking forward to the upcoming time at Florian’s side and I have a clear goal. I want to get to the top. I’m giving it my all and have found the ideal environment here.”

Tiafack will step into the ring at Montreal’s “Theatre St. Denis” as “Top Prospect”.

Last week, the German with Cameroonian roots then signed a contract with Pauls “Most Valuable Promotions” (MVP). “I just want a few build-up fights, I don’t want to be too slow,” emphasized Tiafack. “Our goal is to get straight to the top. There’s a new wave rolling in the heavyweight division and I’m definitely part of it.”

The fight night with Nelvie Tiafack will be broadcast by DAZN from around 2.00 a.m. on Sunday night.
