WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown (20-0, 11 knockouts) has successfully defended her title for the first time. At the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas, the US-American clearly prevailed on points against Emma Gongora (10-4-1, 1 knockout) from France. The fight was broadcast live on DAZN by OTX. The judges scored the fight unanimously in Brown’s favor with 100-90 and twice 98-92.

“She worked me over in the first round,” Brown admitted in the ring interview. “My corner told me I had to be more active. When I hit her with a left hook to the body, she backed off immediately. I really wanted to give the fans an early finish.”

The fight began at a fast pace and Gongora was initially able to land a few surprising strikes. However, Brown soon took control: she worked hard in the infight, skillfully switched to reverse and varied her boxing. In round six, Gongora’s nose was bleeding, and in the tenth round she was on the verge of a knockout after two heavy hits to the head. The clear scorecards clearly reflected Brown’s superiority.
