On July 11, some of the world’s best female boxers will compete at the Garden in New York. So it’s time to take a closer look at the top female fighters: Who are the “pound-for-pound” boxing queens? And above all: where does Germany’s new ring heroine “Tiny Tina” stand?

#10: Mikaela Mayer – (21-2, 5 knockouts | previous ranking 8)
Mikaela Mayer has been one of the crème de la crème of women’s boxing for years. She was crowned unification champion at super featherweight in 2021 and only narrowly lost 2:1 on points to arch-rival Baumgardner a year later. Her second defeat in the 2024 fight record against Nathasha Jonas was also not without controversy. Mayer did not let this put her off, winning the WBO welterweight title last year, where a superfight against Lauren Price now awaits.

#9: Tina Rupprecht – (15-1-1, 3 Knockouts | – )
Tina Rupprecht is already the most successful German female boxer in history alongside Regina Halmich. Two years ago, “Tiny Tina” traveled to the USA and put up a strong fight against superstar Seniesa Estrada in a unification. Although Rupprecht lost her WBC title, she then took off in the atomweight division and was crowned undisputed world champion in the 46.2 kilogram limit – the first German boxing professional ever to do so.
#8: Dina Thorslund – (22-0, 9 Knockouts | 9)
Until now, Dina Thorslund has only boxed in her native Denmark. That will change on July 11, when she steps into the ring in New York against Shurretta Metcalf to add the IBF belt to her WBC and WBO bantamweight belts. Thorslund is ranked first in the Boxrec computer rankings, and the bantam queen’s record is outstanding: she has won all her fights by unanimous decision or early.
