Boxing impresario Turki Al-Sheikh and Hollywood star Jason Statham tease spectacular opponent for Anthony Joshua – mega event planned in Saudi Arabia in February.

Boxing impresario Turki Al-Sheikh has promised Anthony Joshua a real blockbuster. In February, the former heavyweight world champion is set to return to the ring in Saudi Arabia in a blockbuster fight – and the idea apparently came from none other than Hollywood star Jason Statham.
Al-Sheikh, who was ringside for the rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, posted a remarkable message on Instagram. Sitting next to Statham, he explained: “My friend here [pointing at Statham] gave me an idea in Las Vegas in September. It’s going to be a surprise. We signed a fighter from his side to fight Joshua in February in my country. It will be a surprise! And remember, it’s his idea.”
For Joshua (28-4, 25 knockouts), it would be his first fight in over a year out of the ring. His last appearance ended in a bitter knockout in round five against Daniel Dubois in the fight for the IBF title at Wembley Stadium.
Reports recently circulated about a mega-deal between Joshua and influencer boxer Jake Paul after a planned show fight against Gervonta Davis fell through. A possible British mega-clash against long-term rival Tyson Fury also remains a topic of conversation. Although Fury claims he is retired, many see this as merely a poker maneuver for better negotiations.
The boxing world is now waiting with bated breath to see which secret opponent Jason Statham and Turki Al-Sheikh will conjure up for Anthony Joshua.
