Tyson Fury will return to the ring on July 24 to face Mariusz Wach and is preparing for a potential mega-fight against Anthony Joshua.
Tyson Fury has taken the next step toward a potential mega-fight against Anthony Joshua. The former heavyweight world champion will face Polish veteran Mariusz Wach on July 24 at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand. One day later, Joshua will also step into the ring in Saudi Arabia to face Kristian Prenga.
For Fury, the fight is intended as a warm-up before a long-awaited British heavyweight showdown against Joshua later this year. Although the location and date of this mega-fight have not yet been officially confirmed, both camps appear to be working toward the bout. However, in Mariusz Wach, he faces an opponent whose best years are behind him. The 46-year-old brings the experience of 52 professional fights to the ring, but has lost three of his last four bouts. Most recently, the Polish fighter was defeated by Moses Itauma via TKO in 2024.
Fury himself announced the fight on Instagram and teased “big news.” At the same time, the 37-year-old revealed that all ticket proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities. As part of the event, Fury is also set to become the first boxer ever to be awarded the newly created WBC Humanitarian Title. “There’s huge news coming this week. I’ve got something special lined up,” Fury wrote on Instagram ahead of the official announcement.
