In around a month’s time, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will step into the ring for a rematch. BOXSPORT asked around among boxing experts to find out who will win the showdown!

Rematch or replay? That is the big question when Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury fight each other again on December 21. BOXSPORT asked the experts and reveals who will “go” with whom in the rematch.
This world-class duel between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Riyadh will once again be a top event that I am particularly looking forward to. Usyk is currently the best boxer in the world and will win the fight again this time. From my point of view as a trainer, his strategic and tactical skills make him an absolutely exceptional boxer.
Ulli Wegner, coaching legend

“Fury will learn from his mistakes and perform better this time.”
I’m going to go for Tyson Fury to win the fight this time. The first fight could have gone the other way without the knockdown. Fury will learn from his mistakes and perform better this time. I think Usyk was already at his physical limits in the first duel between the two. I’m very excited.
Simon Zachenhuber, boxing pro

I’m torn as to how it will end. There’s a lot to be said for Usyk, who I love and appreciate as a boxer. A great champion! But I can imagine that Fury has learned the right lessons from the defeat. In the first duel, he had everything under control for eight rounds before Usyk exploded in the ninth and demystified Fury. So my money is on Fury this time.
Andreas von Thien, RTL boxing expert
“Usyk wins again on points.”
I think a win for Fury is possible if Usyk has either “aged overnight” or if Fury manages to turn the fight into a street fight this time and make more use of his reach and weight advantages. However, he would have to exert this pressure on the offensive over the entire fight distance and not just in stretches as in the first fight. He was unable to do this in the first fight, mainly due to Usyk’s speed, counter-attacking power and adaptability.
Usyk, on the other hand, now knows Fury’s very specific style and made changes in the first round when he was in trouble, which led to victory. He has the blueprint on how to beat Fury. He also knows now that he can ring Fury, possibly even knock him out. For me, Usyk has the greater variation, the better footwork, the faster hands, the better condition and the clearly better nerves. Therefore my tip: Usyk wins again on points.
Bernd Bönte, Boxing Manager

Fury will win this time because he has learned from his mistakes in the first fight and will not underestimate Usyk this time. Fury is intelligent enough to know how to use his longer reach and physical superiority. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an early finish in this rematch.
Jean-Marcel Nartz, former matchmaker and official
“Fury wins at the second attempt – he’s always done that.”
That’s as good as it gets at the end of the year. A rematch that has every justification. In May, everyone showed that they can beat each other. In Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk had the best heavyweight of our time on the brink of a knockout defeat, and is also on a par with him in mind games. A great champion. But Tyson Fury will win. He has always done so at the second attempt, against Chisora, against Wilder. Nobody has this ring intelligence, corrects their own mistakes so consistently. So much excitement!
Eik Galley, ARD sports commentator

I’m convinced that the rematch will go to Fury. He will have learned from the mistakes of the first fight, in which he had everything under control until the knockdown in the ninth round. It will certainly be another high-class and spectacular fight, which I am personally very much looking forward to.
