Hot anniversary duel in Aschersleben! Julian Vogel meets Sami Ahmeti – two unbeaten junior champions fight for the WBO title.

Aschersleben celebrates a special anniversary on September 27, 2025! 100 years of boxing in the town – and in the middle of it all, a fight that is already making headlines. In the Ballhaus Arena, local hero Julian Vogel (17-0-1, 9 knockouts) will defend his WBO Junior World Light Middleweight title against unbeaten WBC Junior World Middleweight Champion Sami Ahmeti (9-0, 5 knockouts).
The 22-year-old Vogel is looking forward to a home game in front of a sold-out crowd: “Aschersleben is crazy. A lot of tickets are already gone without a big application and this atmosphere is carrying me.” Challenger Ahmeti, 21 years old and newly crowned WBC junior middleweight champion, announces: “I also want to win the WBO middleweight title. The motivation is huge.” SES promoter Ulf Steinforth emphasizes the importance of the duel: “Two young, hungry world champions, both unbeaten. This is a top German duel, the likes of which we haven’t seen for a long time.”
In addition to the main fight, SES Boxing is planning further fights with boxers from “Team Germany”, including Richard Meinecke, Nenad Stancic, Michel Dobler, Paul Schmidt and Armend Xhoxhaj. Christoph Fricke from Aschersleben will also be celebrating his professional debut in the super middleweight division. The gala will be broadcast live on the MDR format“SPORT im Osten – Boxen live”.
