Netflix continues to shake up the boxing market: On December 19, the streaming giant will broadcast Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul as well as the complete undercard.
The boxing circus is back in Miami – and with it one of the most unusual pairings of recent years. When Jake Paul meets former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center on December 19, it’s not just about sport, but about attention, reach and new approaches in the boxing business. One question in particular is in focus: Where is the fight even taking place?
Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix worldwide. There will be no classic pay-per-view.
Unusual for traditional boxing fans: DAZN is not showing the fight, although the provider is heavily promoting other PPV events. Netflix is taking over the entire live broadcast – from the undercard start to the main event. The main fight is scheduled for eight rounds of three minutes each. The ringwalk is expected in Germany at around 3:30 am on Saturday night.
