“I’ll bet my house on Chavez!” – Zurdo Ramirez firmly believes in the ex-champ against Paul and is planning big things himself after the Dorticos fight.

While Jake Paul is in the spotlight, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez has a clear opinion on who will triumph on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The unified WBA and WBO cruiserweight world champion is defending his own titles against the dangerous Cuban Yuniel Dorticos. But his attention is also focused on the co-main event: Jake Paul against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. “I’m betting my house on Chavez winning,” Ramirez declared confidently. “It’s his comeback. He has to win this fight – and if he looks good, I want to box him.”
But a fight against Jake Paul would also be conceivable for Ramirez – should the YouTuber actually beat Chavez Jr. “If Jake Paul wins, you have to give him respect. But I can easily beat Jake Paul. If everything fits and the money is right, why not?” With a strong performance against Dorticos, Ramirez (47-1, 30 knockouts) could also open up many other options: a megafight against David Benavidez, a unification duel against Jai Opetaia – or even a show fight against Paul or Chavez. “Benavidez is a fight that a lot of people want to see. If he doesn’t get a chance at 175, he should move up to cruiserweight,” said Ramirez. “We’ve already talked about it – we want the fight!”
