A strong performance by the young German boxers at the U19 European Championships: Mohamed Al Manouchi (up to 55 kg) and Marko Nadeljkovic (up to 75 kg) reached the semi-finals with convincing performances and have already secured bronze. On his way to the semi-finals, the 19-year-old Nadeljkovic defeated the Croatian Duje Kutlesa early by RSC, won on points against the Finn Frank Oliver Martas in the round of 16 and prevailed against the Irishman Jason Whelan in the quarter-finals.

Teammate Al Manouchi, who went straight through to the round of 16 thanks to a walk-through, defeated Frenchman Mohamed Dahmane Djemmal on points and then stopped Belgian Abdullah Ahmad early in the quarter-finals. National coach Andreas Schulz is optimistic: “Whoever reaches the semi-finals here deserves it. Mohamed and Marko boxed strongly – everything is possible for both of them.”

Both athletes will use the days before the fight to regenerate and prepare tactically. Nadeljkovic emphasizes: “I’m going into the fight with confidence – I want silver!” And Al Manouchi is also focused: “I’m 100 percent ready. Everything counts now.”
