With “Double Rematch” on May 9, SES delivers a fight night that thrives on sporting excitement. In Halle, the focus will be on two rematches that should leave no questions unanswered this time.

After a long break, SES Boxing is returning to Halle with a major event – and has scheduled two rematches for May 9 that aim to provide clear answers. Under the motto “Double Rematch”, two main fights will take place in the Sparkasse Ice Cream, in which outstanding scores from previous duels are to be settled.
In the first main event, Artur Reis will once again face Poland’s Mateusz Tryc. After their controversial clash in November, from which Reis emerged with the WBO European light heavyweight title, dissatisfaction remained on both sides. This is precisely why there will now be a rematch. Reis has announced that this time he will leave no doubt about his superiority. Tryc, on the other hand, is traveling with the clear message that he wants to win the belt in Halle.
The second main fight is also the direct continuation of an open duel. Julian Vogel defends his WBO Youth title in the semi-main event against Sami Ahmeti after the first duel in September ended without a winner. Both young boxers have since been able to recommend themselves with another success, so the conditions are right for a second technically strong and intense duel.
SES promoter Ulf Steinforth sees precisely this as the appeal of the evening: rematches are often the sharpest and most honest constellations in boxing because both sides know exactly what to expect. The program will be supported by further professional fights, including an appearance by heavyweight Michel Dobler, as well as amateur fights in cooperation with Commander Box Promotion.
The MDR will broadcast this SES Boxing Gala on May 9, 2026 with its program “SPORT im Osten – Boxen live” from 10:30 pm. Tickets for this SES Boxing Gala are now available at Sparkassen-Eisdom at www.eventim.de, at all advance booking offices and by calling the SES ticket hotline on 0391/7273720.
