The Cuban double Olympic champion Arlen Lopez will box on May 1st at the “Mallorca Fight Night” in the super middleweight division against the Argentinian Leonel Eduardo Avila.

AGON Sports sets a clear exclamation mark with the “Mallorca Fight Night” on May 1st in the Pueblo Español. Never before has such a high-caliber fight card been presented on the Balearic island. Under the motto “Mallorca’s Best Fight Card Ever”, spectators can look forward to an evening of fights that combines international top class with up-and-coming talent. This is the first time that the island has become the focus of the global boxing scene.
Heavyweight “Hulk” Castillo boxes for first title
Two major WBA title fights take center stage. Local hero Samuel Carmona (13-1, 5 knockouts) meets the experienced Venezuelan Rodrigo Ramirez (21-2-2, 13 knockouts) in the flyweight division. Carmona’s goal: to finally position himself among the world’s best with a victory in front of his home crowd. In the heavyweight division, the “Cuban Hulk” Carlos Castillo Rodriguez (10-0, 6 knockouts) will also step into the ring against Argentinian Jonathan Exequiel Vergara (9-3, 5 knockouts). For Castillo it’s about the “WBA Fedelatin” title. The next important step in his still young but promising career.
Another sporting highlight is the appearance of Arlen Lopez (6-0, 2 knockouts). AGON’s double Olympic champion (2016 and 2020) will face Argentinian Leonel Eduardo Avila (12-4, 4 knockouts) in a ten-round super middleweight bout. The exceptional Cuban boxer is one of the biggest names in international amateur boxing and his commitment underlines the exceptional quality of this event.
Malek Semmo and Assan Hansen also on the fight card
The fight card is also packed with promising duels and strong AGON fighters. Cuban talent Saidel Horta (1-0) takes on the powerful Venezuelan Fernando Toro (11-3, 9 knockouts) at lightweight. Alejandro Claro (1-0) takes on the experienced Colombian Edinson Martinez (15-7-3, 12 knockouts) in the flyweight division.
From a German perspective, Malek Semmo (4-0, 3 knockouts) is among those taking part, who will face Kassimou Mouhamadou (11-8, 4 knockouts) in the middleweight. Also in action: Assan Hansen (3-0), who will face Frenchman Faysal Benatallah (3-3) in the super lightweight.
