The venue for the Joshua vs. Fury fight remains undecided. Turki Al-Sheikh prefers Wembley but is calling for more flexibility regarding the event times.
The long-awaited heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury might take place in England after all. Turki Al-Sheikh stated that Wembley Stadium is his preferred venue—but only if the fight can be held much later.
The reason for this is the American TV market. In order to broadcast the main event during prime time in the U.S., Wembley would have to extend its usual curfew. “We want the fight to take place in England, but we need a time that works for the whole world—especially for America,” explained the boxing mogul from Saudi Arabia.
Before the mega-fight can take place, both heavyweights must first win their scheduled warm-up bouts. Tyson Fury will face Mariusz Wach in Thailand on July 24, while Anthony Joshua will take on Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia the following day. If both emerge victorious, the long-awaited showdown could take place in November.
