AGON heavyweight Carlos Castillo celebrated another important victory last Saturday in Korbach at an event organized by PSP Boxing. He won unanimously on points after eight rounds against the experienced Ukrainian German Skobenko. Castillo thus remains unbeaten in his professional career with nine wins in nine fights. It was his fourth outing this year after the Cuban-born fighter had to take a year off.

What many people don’t know: Carlos Castillo is always a welcome sparring partner for Agit Kabayel, currently Germany’s greatest heavyweight hope. He has supported the multiple European champion and current WBC interim world champion in numerous training camps in preparation for top international fights, gaining valuable experience himself in the process. This time at Kabayel’s side has left its mark on the AGON man: Discipline, focus and an understanding of working at the highest level.

“My plan for 2026: to win a title”

Now Castillo wants to step into the limelight himself as one of the up-and-coming heavyweights from the AGON Sports stable. After his victory, the southpaw said confidently: “It wasn’t a difficult fight. But you had to keep boxing because your opponent was mentally very strong. My plan for 2026 is to win a title and become one of the best heavyweights in the world. That’s why I keep cutting weight to feel faster and stronger and train harder every day to achieve my goal.”

AGON promoter Ingo Volckmann sees clear prospects in him: “Carlos is on a very good path. Next year we want to fight for the first title and then the title hunt is on!”

Agit Kabayel’s sparring partner has long since become a serious challenger in the international heavyweight division. And a fighter who wants to take the next big step in 2026.
