Frazer Clarke: “Dubois needs a bad day from Usyk!”

Frazer Clarke warns: “If Daniel Dubois wants to beat Oleksandr Usyk, he needs his worst day – and his best!”

For Olympic medalist Frazer Clarke, one thing is clear: when Daniel Dubois boxes Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight crown at Wembley Stadium on July 19, he will need more than just punching power – he will need a bad day from the champion. Clarke, who recently returned to the ring himself and stopped Ebenezer Tetteh in round one, has spent training time with Usyk and praises his professionalism and ring intelligence. “Usyk is one of the best I’ve ever been in the ring with. His small, almost invisible details make all the difference,” Clarke told talkSPORT.

Clarke also knows all about Dubois – the two used to share Team GB Gym in Sheffield. Clarke is certain: “Daniel is a great puncher, he has a chance – but he needs to be on top form and hope that Usyk doesn’t have his best day.” Dubois has made a strong comeback since his controversial defeat to Usyk in 2023, including impressive knockouts against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and most recently Anthony Joshua. But Usyk is still unbeaten – and became the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in his first fight against Tyson Fury.
