Emanuel Odiase boxes in Heidelberg for heavyweight championship

The main fight of the biggest German boxing event in recent years has been announced. On July 19, Emanuel Odiase from Heidelberg will fight for the German championship against Tomas Salek from the Czech Republic. “We are delighted that we were able to secure this top opponent for Emanuel. The boxing fans can look forward to a spectacular main event. Salek will demand a lot from Emanuel. We can hardly wait,” says organizer Florian Winter.

“Ringside” promises boxing fireworks

The managing director of the organizing company Ringside Zone GmbH promises real boxing fireworks with plenty of entertainment in the SNP Dome this evening. In addition to the 26-year-old “local hero” Odiase, Nelvie Tiafack, Germany’s bronze medal winner at the 2024 Olympic Games, and Simon Zachenhuber will also step into the ring in other fights. The man from Erdingen will face a real top opponent in his fight against the current No. 4 in the world rankings, Paulinus Ndjolonimu from Namibia.

The boxing spectacle with a total of six fights combines sport and show and presents stars in and out of the ring. Streaming channel DAZN will broadcast the fight evening live. Between the fights, fans at the SNP Dome in Heidelberg can look forward to show acts such as Shindy, Ardian Bujupi and NoMBe. There will also be acrobatics, dance and magic from the renowned WinterVarieté.

The goal: to become world champion by 2027

“There has never been a boxing event like this in Germany,” promises Winter. And adds: “We will make heavyweight boxing socially acceptable again and want to trigger a new boxing hype. This evening in Heidelberg will be the start of a new era.” The focus will be on the up-and-coming heavyweight Emanuel Odiase, who is set to become the new face of German boxing. The goal: to become world heavyweight champion by 2027.

In addition to the sporting focus, the event also pursues a social goal. Together with the Klitschko Foundation and the “Anpfiff ins Leben” foundation, Ringside Zone is committed to equal opportunities and promoting prospects for young people – a strong statement for social responsibility in top-class sport.
