Since today, boxers have been fighting at the 101. German Championships (DM) in Halle an der Saale for medals. The title fights in the SWH Arena (Nietlebener Straße 16, 06126 Halle) in the Elite age group (adults) will continue until Saturday (November 22). A total of 124 fights are scheduled in ten competition events. The arrival and draw of the participants took place yesterday (Tuesday).

Hard-fought limits

One of the particularly high-class weight classes is the men’s limit up to 71 kilograms (half-medium). Olympic starter Maghomed Shakhidov is the favorite there. One of the rivals of the multiple German champion from TSV 1860 Munich is Daniel Meyer, who competes in the German Boxing League for BC Traktor Schwerin. Meyer won the title of German middleweight champion last year.

The light-welterweight division (up to 63.5 kg) with squad boxers Assan Hansen and Denis Bril as well as the light-heavyweight division (up to 80 kg), where two-time German champion Ben Ehis (SG Kaarst) is considered to have the best chances. Hamburg’s Amar Abduljabbar and U22 champion Vitaly Walter (BR 46 Karlsruhe-Knielingen) are also among the favorites.

The German Boxing Association (DBV) and the Saxony-Anhalt Boxing Association are the organizers of the 101st German Elite Championships. All days of the tournament will be streamed on sportdeutschland.tv.
