Bank knocks down ex-IBF champion three times and stops Scull in round twelve – Thorslund wins WBC interim title in front of home crowd.

Danish super-middleweight challenger Jacob Bank celebrated the biggest win of his career last night. In the Sydbank Arena in Kolding, he stopped former IBF world champion William Scull in the twelfth round, putting down a big marker in front of his home crowd.
Bank (18-0, 10 knockouts) sent Scull (23-2, 9 knockouts) to the floor twice in the sixth round. The Dane thought the fight was already decided when he caught Scull with a left hand in the closing seconds of the round and sent him down again.
However, the Cuban showed fighting spirit and stayed on his feet until the final round. There he went down a third time when Bank put him on the ropes with a combination. Scull got up again, but the referee waved the fight off. Bank closed the bag and defended his WBO Global title with a T.K.O.
In the co-main event, Dina Thorslund, world champion in two weight classes, made a successful debut at super featherweight. Thorslund (24-0, 9 knockouts) secured the interim WBC title with a clear unanimous-decision victory over Almudena Alvarez (7-4, 2 knockouts). The judges scored it 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 for the 32-year-old, who thus remains unbeaten in her home country.
There was also action on the undercard: Cuban southpaw Carlos Castillo Rodriguez continued his strong start to his professional career and stopped Gianmarco Cardillo in the second round. Rodriguez (10-0, 6 knockouts) sent Cardillo (12-2-2, 2 knockouts) to the mat with a straight left at the end of the first round. Halfway through the second round, he capped it off with another straight left.
