AGON Sports is sending its top boxers Moussa Gholam, Arlen Lopez and Bujar Tahiri to the WBA event in Madrid on July 17.

AGON Sports will be represented by three top athletes from its own ranks at an international event in Spain’s capital on July 17. Moussa Gholam, Arlen Lopez and Bujar Tahiri will step into the ring at the “Teatro Las Vegas” in Madrid as part of the conclusion of the first “WBA European Convention” – all three in WBA title fights.
“Headliner” Gholam with a large fan base
Moussa Gholam (23-1-0, 14 knockouts) contests the main fight of the evening. The super featherweight from Morocco, who lives in Spain and has a large fan base, defends his “WBA Continental Americas” title against the dangerous Argentinian Maximiliano Verón (111-1-0, 4 knockouts). Gholam, who has impressed with spectacular performances recently, wants to underline his ambitions for a world championship fight with another victory.

In the co-main event, two-time Cuban Olympic champion Arlen Lopez (4-0, 2 knockouts) takes center stage. The light heavyweight meets the experienced Mexican Paul Valenzuela Cuesta (28-12-1, 18 knockouts) and puts his “WBA Continental Americas” title on the line. For Lopez, it is the next important stage on his way to the world’s top professional boxers.
Unbeaten middleweight Bujar Tahiri (19-0, 9 knockouts) rounds off the AGON trio. The German will face Jonathan Wilson Sanchez from Argentina. At stake is the vacant “WBA Continental Gold” title. For Tahiri, it is the first international title fight of his career.
Crowning finale to the WBA Convention
The event is the grand finale of the first European WBA Convention, which will take place in Madrid from July 15 to 18. A total of eleven fights are on the program, including several title duels and Olympic-style junior encounters.
AGON Sports is proud to be part of this historic evening with three top-class boxers and, following events in Cuba and Argentina, to once again bring top-class boxing to the international stage.
