The boxing match with the most rounds ever took place 200 years ago. The fight between Jack Jones and Patsy Tunney in Cheshire in 1825 had a total of 276 rounds.

Before the Queensbery Rules were introduced in 1867, each round of a fight lasted until one of the fighters was knocked down. Then the fighters returned to their corners and the fight continued. There was neither a time limit nor a limit on the number of rounds. For this reason, many fights ended in a draw at this time.
