The Undisputed fight between Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford on September 13 was in many ways a fight of superlatives. At the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, 70,482 boxing fans were in attendance live – the second largest crowd ever for an indoor boxing match in US history. For the Allegiant Stadium itself, home of the NFL team Las Vegas Raiders, it was the largest attendance since it opened in 2020.

However, the indoor record for a boxing event remains reserved for Canelo vs. In 2021, Canelo defeated his British rival Billy Joe Saunders early at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (USA). A total of 67,054 fans officially flocked to the arena that night.

Canelo vs. Crawford overtakes Ali vs. Spinks II

The duel between Canelo and Crawford overtook the legendary rematch between Muhammad Ali and Leon Spinks II in terms of indoor spectator records. In 1978, “The Greatest” won in front of 63,352 spectators in the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans and took revenge for the previous defeat in the rematch.

On September 13, 2025, Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 knockouts) defeated Mexican super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39 knockouts) by unanimous decision on points at Allegiant Stadium. In the process, “Bud” became world champion in his fifth weight class and undisputed champion in his third weight class.
