Osleys Iglesias dominates Vladimir Shishkin and wins by T.K.O. in round 8 – the Cuban is now Canelo’s official IBF mandatory challenger!

“The Tornado” sweeps through the super middleweight division again! Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 knockouts) made a strong statement on Thursday night in Montreal, stopping Vladimir Shishkin (16-2) in the eighth round. In a wild IBF eliminator, the Cuban hardly gave his opponent a chance to breathe and impressed with his explosive power.
It was clear early on that both wanted to decide the fight early – but Iglesias’ punching power was ultimately too much for the tough Russian, who was coached by Tyson Fury’s coach Sugar Hill. The difference was clear from round 5 at the latest, and Iglesias opened a cut on his opponent in round 7 before forcing an early end with a hard series of punches in the eighth round.
With the victory, the Cuban, who lives in Germany, secures his position as the official IBF mandatory challenger – and puts himself in the running for a duel with undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez. It remains to be seen whether the Mexican will face Iglesias.
