Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (48-1, 30 knockouts) defended his WBA and WBO cruiserweight world titles with a unanimous points victory over two-time former world champion Yuniel Dorticos (26-3, 24 knockouts) at the Honda Center on Saturday night. The fight served as the co-main event on the undercard of Jake Paul’s showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The judges scored the twelve-round title fight 117-110, 115-112 and 115-112 unanimously in favor of the Mexican. Ramirez controlled the action for long stretches, kept Dorticos at a distance and showed a technically clean performance. After the fight, “Zurdo” issued a clear challenge to IBF world champion Jai Opetaia on DAZN: “Yes, this is the fight I want,” Ramirez declared confidently. “I am the king. Call me out. I want it all!”

Schofield beats Farmer spectacularly in round one

On the undercard, lightweight Floyd Schofield (19-0, 13 knockouts) caused a stir. He stopped former world champion Tevin Farmer (33-9-1, 8 knockouts) in the first round. The official stopped the fight after 1:18 minutes after Farmer was knocked down twice – his first knockout defeat in over twelve years.

Rodriguez cracks Griffin’s zero

In the welterweight division, Avious Griffin (17-1, 16 knockouts) suffered his first defeat as a professional. Julian Rodriguez (24-1, 15 knockouts) secured the biggest win of his career with a knockout in round ten. Griffin’s impressive run of 16 knockouts in 17 fights came to an abrupt end.
