Last dance for “Bud”? Terence Crawford wants to beat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez – and then possibly retire from boxing!

A fight that could make history – and possibly be the final chapter in the illustrious career of Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31 knockouts). If his trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre has his way, the pound-for-pound star is on the brink of his greatest triumph – and perhaps the end of his career.
Crawford, who is moving up from welterweight via half-middleweight and middleweight to super-middleweight, wants to defeat superstar Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas in September. However, the Mexican still has to get AGON boxer William Scull out of the way in Saudi Arabia in May .
In an interview with the boxing portal BoxingScene Crawford coach “BoMac” said confidently: “We will win. Period. I’m not worried about the weight difference – Terence has an outstanding eye and incredible ring intelligence. The only one who can beat Terence is Terence himself. And he’s doing this for his legacy.” When asked if Canelo was the biggest challenge – bigger even than Errol Spence – McIntyre answered clearly: “Fuck yes! Look at what Canelo has achieved.”
Last fight for “Bud”?
And what happens after the mega-fight? BoMac was also clear about this: “It could very well be that this will be Crawford’s last fight. A legacy fight, then it’s over.” It remains to be seen whether this will actually happen – but one thing is certain: Crawford vs. Canelo could not only be a boxing highlight of the year, but also the crowning finale to one of the greatest careers of our time.
