Ukrainian heavyweight Victor Faust put down an impressive marker in Flensburg on Saturday evening. The EC Boxing professional won the fight for the WBO European Championship against Todorche Cvetkov after just 29 seconds. Faust went forward uncompromisingly from the very first moment. A hard series of body punches forced his opponent to the ground early on. Cvetkov remained down and was unable to continue the fight. The referee stopped the fight after less than half a minute.

Promoter Erol Ceylan was satisfied after Faust’s brief appearance and categorized the quick victory: “After the last planned opponent was unable to compete in the second round after the first round, it was clear to Victor that he wanted to end this fight as quickly as possible right from the start. He went about his business with full determination from the very first moment, hitting the body very precisely and hard and giving his opponent no chance. You can see how difficult it is now in Europe to find suitable opponents – many don’t want to box against him or can’t stand up to him. Victor did his job with absolute confidence and his opponents will have to be much stronger in the future.”

With the quick knockout, Faust not only secures the WBO European title, but possibly also an important ranking with the world association. It is another important step on the way to greater international challenges in the heavyweight division.
