The streaming service gives a first look at the six-episode series in the official trailer for the sports documentary. “It’s the first time cameras have been given ‘access to all areas’ at the Essex-based sports empire,” reads a press release. “The exclusive series will captivate sports fans around the world and give them a gripping front row view.” ‘Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen’ will also feature appearances from boxing stars such as Katie Taylor, Anthony Joshua, Conor Benn, darts champion Luke Littler and snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Barry Hearn, Founder and President of Matchroom Sport: “For over four decades, Matchroom has held its own as one of the UK’s global business successes. But we are not normal. That’s why we’ve always had to stand out from the crowd and go against what’s ‘normal’ in the traditional corporate sense. This series shows all that and more. It has its dark side – and the story has a lot to do with ‘Succession’. There’s me – the old, grey-haired geezer who founded the company and is used to getting his way. And then there’s the young son, who is dynamic, and all the others …”

Eddie Hearn, Managing Director Matchroom Sport: “This is a great day for our company and we are very proud to bring our story to a global audience on Netflix. It’s a cross between ‘Succession’ and ‘Drive to Survive’: we’re bringing you an unprecedented insight into the dramas of the world’s biggest and best live events from boxing, darts, snooker and multisport.”
“A look behind the scenes”
“Viewers will see players like Luke Littler and Ronnie O’Sullivan like never before. And find out what really went on behind the scenes at Benn v Eubank Jr, Taylor v Serrano II and ‘AJ’ v Dubois. In addition to live action, fans also see all the drama that goes on behind the scenes – in locker rooms, at press conferences, during arguments. It’s simply captivating. And then there’s the family dynamic between me and my dad …”
All six episodes will be available worldwide on Netflix from Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The series was filmed at the Matchroom headquarters in Brentwood, Essex (England), Atlantic City, Dallas and Los Angeles (USA), in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and in Manila (Philippines).
