A legend was born 76 years ago today: George Foreman, one of the most influential heavyweights in boxing history. His career is an example of sporting greatness, comeback qualities and an unmistakable personality – both in and out of the ring.

Foreman began his career as a dominant athlete. With 40 unbeaten fights, he was considered almost invincible until he met Muhammad Ali in the legendary “Rumble in the Jungle” in 1974. This fight in the heat of Kinshasa became one of Foreman’s greatest defeats, destroying his myth as an unstoppable boxing machine. But it was also the moment that made him a legend. He proved his greatness after the defeat and rose to the throne again 20 years later: in 1994, at the age of 45, he knocked out Michael Moorer and became the oldest heavyweight world champion in history.

In addition to boxing, Foreman found new vocations. As a preacher and entrepreneur, he wrote an unparalleled success story. The “George Foreman Grill” made him a global brand ambassador. His legacy extends far beyond the ring. With humor, discipline and an unparalleled career, he remains a role model for generations. All the best, Big George!
