Undercard for Eubank-Benn II: Catterall, Riakporhe and Azim

Jack Catterall meets Ekow Essuman – Richard Riakporhe moves up to heavyweight – Adam Azim challenges Zaur Abdullaev.

The hotly anticipated rivalry between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn enters its second round – and now the spectacular undercard has been confirmed. The event, promoted by Riyadh Season, The Ring, SELA, Matchroom Boxing and BOXXER, will take place on November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be streamed live worldwide exclusively on DAZN. The undercard fights are produced in partnership with Queensberry Promotions and Goldstar.

There are highlights for British boxing fans in particular: Jack Catterall, Richard Riakporhe and Adam Azim enter the ring to set the stage for the main event.

Catterall vs. Essuman – Welterweight clash

Former undisputed lightweight title contender Jack Catterall (31-2, 13 knockouts) continues his journey at welterweight. He meets former British and Commonwealth champion Ekow “The Engine” Essuman (22-1, 8 knockouts). Catterall last defeated Harlem Eubank, cousin of Chris Eubank Jr, in July by a technical points decision after an unfortunate clash of heads. Essuman caused a big surprise in May when he beat Josh Taylor on points. A victory on November 15 could put both boxers in a direct world championship position – Catterall is currently ranked 8th, Essuman 3rd by the WBO.

Riakporhe takes the step up to heavyweight

“The Midnight Train” Richard Riakporhe (18-1, 14 knockouts) celebrates his heavyweight debut on home soil. His opponent: the unbeaten Tommy Welch (16-0, 9 knockouts), son of former world title challenger Scott Welch. Riakporhe was defeated by Chris Billam-Smith at cruiserweight in Selhurst Park in June 2024, but made an impressive comeback when he stopped Argentinian Kevin Nicolas Espindola on the undercard of Canelo Álvarez vs William Scull in Riyadh in May.

Azim back in the ring against dangerous Abdullaev

One of Britain’s biggest talents, Adam Azim (13-0, 10 knockouts), is back on the ropes for the first time since February. The 22-year-old will face the experienced and hard-hitting Armenian Zaur Abdullaev (20-2, 12 knockouts) in the super-lightweight division. Azim is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the country and wants to underline his World Championship ambitions with another victory.
